A large amount of rainfall falls at Scotts Flat Reservoir; January is the month that gets       the most rain; July is when it's the driest. There is a great hiking trail in the vicinity of Scotts Flat Reservoir called the Humbug Trail; paddling on Yuba River - South Fork is so much fun. And if that's not sufficient there's loads more entertaining stuff to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. You're sure to bump into some smiling people from Truckee-Grass Valley here; going for a hike on the Lafayette Ridge Trail is always a fine adventure.
