    The beauty of Scorpion Lake is reason enough to stop by. High temperatures at Scorpion Lake during the long summer days are in the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's with temperatures at Scorpion Lake dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. All our national parks are magnificent places to stop at, and Whiskeytown National Recreation Area is no exception; Porter Spring  
   is an inspiring site to stop by while here. Scorpion Lake is a beautiful lake in the Klamath Mountains.
This lake is so wonderful. Scorpion Lake is a great place to visit for more than one day, Eagle Creek Campground is a great place to camp nearby, and you get a good view of Bonanza King from here. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff in the Klamath Mountains. Dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Central, and whitewater paddling is not for
 
               everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Trinity River. All year is a nice time in the Klamath Mountains if you like the outdoors. Coffee Creek Campground and RV is a glorious campground nearby, and Scorpion Lake is right by the Echo Lake Trail.
Looking for something close to Scorpion Lake? Devils Lake is close by, and do take a hike on the Sisson Calahan National Recreation Trail. This lake is so wonderful. This is no site for people who don’t like to have fun. You're probably addicted to lakes, Grouse Lake is one of those nearby, and there's whitewater on Trinity River - East Fork for all you adrenaline junkies.
Scorpion Lake is pretty dry generally; during the month of December you get the most rain around here, and the driest month of the year is July.
