     Schilling Lake is a location that is pretty waterless usually; the wettest month of the year is regularly January, that's the one that rains the most; the driest of the months is July. Now, you may believe that's loads but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here at Schilling Lake. An afternoon playing golf at Emerald Hills Golf Course is always a joy, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Trappers Trail. At Schilling Lake during the warm months  
   highs are in the 70's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 50's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Schilling Lake temperatures sink to the 40's.
Do stop at Pearsons Pond in the vicinity of Schilling Lake, it's a pretty lake; you're sure to encounter some cheerful folks from San Francisco-Oakland-Fremont here. Man, is there a load of cool stuff to do in
 
               the Santa Cruz Mountains. Schilling Lake is located in the Santa Cruz Mountains.
You clearly ought to adore the Santa Cruz Mountains. The Meadows is a wonderful location here at Schilling Lake, and the Alambique Trail offers hiking at its best. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Rosewood Sand Hill is a great place to spend a night or two, and do take a hike on the Edgewood Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Alambique Creek flows through this region, and if you're here, you could also take a look at gorgeous Bear Gulch Reservoir.
You might want to pay a visit to Bear Gulch since you're here at Schilling Lake, and a glorious place to camp here at Schilling Lake is Trailer Villa. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this site. Glide down the rapids of Pescadero Creek in a kayak; get yourself into a kayak and hit San Lorenzo River. These mountains rock, just look at all the entertaining things to do in the Santa Cruz Mountains. The peak of Kelly Hill can be seen from Schilling Lake, and dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Redwood City.
Camping is available at Trailer Rancho, and if you have time to spare, Juan Bautista De Anza National Historic Trail is a national park worth a visit.
