Custom Search     Schaads Reservoir     Anybody fished at Schaad's latetly. I am thinking about taking my kids Friday. Says Mike For Ken, the road to Blue Creek just past the turn off to Schaads has been gated off by the lumber company. Says Terry The Schaads properties are currently up for sale. I've heard the lake is now closed off -- Can anyone confirm? Says Terry Shcaads is a dammed lake on the middle fork of the the mokelumne river. Get out your banjos when you visit...very     country-fryed. Fishing at Schaads has always been iffy, never good. The mid fork moke river above used to have small trout but CFG put in some otters and the fishing is nada. Blue Creek, a whole different drainage and miles away has a few small fish but not worth the effort on very rough roads. Go to the Stan river at the upper end of Melones Res. Hike up, catch some good ones. Says Eric Douglas I am looking for directions back to Blue Creek. It is up the road several miles past Schaads. Wakeboarding?       Says Curtis I FISHED SCHADD'S THREE TIMES LAST YEAR AND IT WASN'T GOOD AS COMPARED TO PREVIOUS YEARS. I ALSO READ THAT IT WILL NO LONGER BE PLANTED DUE TO A RED FOOTED FROG ON THE ENDANGERED LIST. MANY OF OUR SIERRA LAKES WILL   NOT BE PLANTED, CHECK OUT DEPT OF FISH AND GAME PLANTING SCHEDULE. HOW DID THIS HAPPEN TO OUR STATE? Says Joan Miller The gate is always closed but hardly every locked. If the road is weather hampered then the gate is locked. Says Cliff Martin It has been many many years since I've been there. I remember when you could drive all the way back where the river came in. I know you can't now. Can you tell me when it is ok to use the reservoir? It would be fun to visit again, if I can find it. Thank you, Says Chuck Baldwin The gate is locked only in the winter so they don't mess up the road that is only in the winter. But you have to open and close the gate.
