The Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Deer Creek Inn is a great choice; Diablo Campground is a great campground nearby. And if that's not sufficient there's loads more cool stuff to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Going for a hike along the Butcher Ranch Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region, and a pleasant visit to Lusk Meadows       is a great way to spend an afternoon. Some of the water close by flows, like Church Creek, and you're most likely hooked on lakes, Upper Sardine Lake is one of those nearby. If only every site had this much outdoors enjoyable stuff, what a great globe it would be. Man, is there a load of fun things to do in the vicinity of Saxonia Lake. Hiking along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 15 is glorious fun; a delightful location for whitewater paddling is Lavezzola                  Creek. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Royal Gorge since you're here, and you can run the rapids of Yuba River - North Fork. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Chalet View Lodge is a good location to spend a night or two; if the weather is lovely, you obtain a wonderful vista of Sierra Buttes from Saxonia Lake. If you came for an overnight stay Berger Campground is a good spot to camp, and there's always Packer Dam to visit in the neighborhood of Saxonia Lake. The warmest time of the year at Saxonia Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 90's while nighttime lows are mostly in the 40's. Highs throughout the wintertime are typically in the 40's, and nighttime lows in the 20's for Saxonia Lake. A typical amount of rainfall falls here at Saxonia Lake; the month with most of the rain is January, and the driest month is July. Now, you may imagine that's a heap but there's even more cool stuff to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada.
