Sure, Young America Lake is close to Saxonia Lake, and there is a perfect hiking trail close by called the Pacific Crest Trail - section 15. And if that's not enough, there's loads more to do right next door to Saxonia Lake. A good spot to camp here at Saxonia Lake is Berger Campground, and after a long day outdoors Deer Creek Inn is a fine place to spend a night or two.       And if you're still looking for more outdoors fun stuff just keep reading. This lake is so wonderful. The skiing at Royal Gorge is magnificent, and Chalet View Lodge is a delightful site to get some rest. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Yuba River - North Fork, and you should unquestionably dedicate some time to Lusk Meadows if you're here at Saxonia Lake. Saxonia Lake is located in the Northern Sierra Nevada.                  An average amount of precipitation falls at Saxonia Lake; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most rain, and July is the month with the least moisture. And if that's not enough there's loads more entertaining stuff to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Going for a hike on the Butcher Ranch Trail is always a brilliant adventure; obviously Church Creek is a pretty stream that is worth visiting. You don’t have to go far from Saxonia Lake to see the water at Packer Dam, and get your heart pumping on the pleasant whitewater of Lavezzola Creek. Summertime highs at Saxonia Lake typically tend to be in the 90's while overnight lows are frequently in the 40's. During the winter highs are generally in the 40's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Saxonia Lake temperatures descend to the 20's. Just can't get enough of the Northern Sierra Nevada. On a delightful day at Saxonia Lake you can take a hike along the Deer Lake Trail; the top of Sierra Buttes is easily spotted from Saxonia Lake. This lake is so wonderful.
