California has many beautiful lakes and Sawmill Pond is one of them. Man, is there lots of cool things to do close to Sawmill Pond. Enjoy a lazy day on the beach at Kiva Beach, and do stop by Angora Creek if you're here at Sawmill Pond. The snow is brilliant at Sierra at Tahoe, and if you come at the right time of year, American River - South Fork offers some brilliant whitewater. day at, Tahoe Mountain Group Campground is a splendid local campground; you can have a splendid hiking adventure along the Hawley Grade Trail.
A lake nearby is Fallen Leaf Lake, and Pope Beach is reasonably nearby if you're in
a beach type of mood. If you're visiting Sawmill Pond from Gardnerville Ranchos, you won't be the only one, and since you're here you can take a hike along the General Creek Trail. This lake is so wonderful. The summit of Gardner
Mountain can be spotted from Sawmill Pond; a day on the slopes of Heavenly is just what you need.
Through the summer months at Sawmill Pond temperatures are typically in the 70's. Through the moonlight hours it's frequently in
the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Sawmill Pond. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a location to stay Pine Cone Acre Motel is a perfect choice,
and camping at California Land Management is always a magnificent experience. This lake is one of the great places here in the Northern Sierra Nevada.
Sawmill Pond gets a typical amount of annual rain; January is the wettest month with most snow, and the driest of the months is July.
