Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. A good close by hotel is Pine Cone Acre Motel; why not camp at California Land Management while you're here at Sawmill Pond. The General Creek Trail offers hiking at its best, and a tour to Kiva Beach is always a fine idea. Just can't get enough of the Northern Sierra Nevada. Sawmill Pond is not the only place nearby, Fallen Leaf Lake is a nearby lake. Now, you       may think that's loads but there's even more cool stuff to do here at Sawmill Pond. There's wonderful hiking along the Hawley Grade Trail; a lake nearby is Fallen Leaf Lake. And that's not everything you can do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Pope Beach is next to Sawmill Pond and is a gorgeous beach to stop at, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Sawmill Pond; Pacific Crest Trail - section 14 is a pleasant local trail. There's whitewater on Silver                  Creek - South Fork for all you adrenaline rush seekers, and pretty scenery and delightful skiing is what you obtain at Heavenly. This lake is so wonderful. Harvest Inn-St Helena, Napa Valley is a good place to get some rest, and there are some fine whitewater spots on American River - South Fork. Sawmill Pond is a beautiful lake in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Sawmill Pond is a good site of common precipitation; January is when you get the most snow here; July on the other hand is the driest. So many entertaining things in the Northern Sierra Nevada, just remarkable. On a gorgeous day you acquire a panorama of Gardner Mountain from Sawmill Pond, and a great spot to camp here at Sawmill Pond is Tahoe Mountain Group Campground. Looking for some flowing water? Try Angora Creek; if you're visiting from Gardnerville Ranchos, you won't be the only one. This lake is so wonderful. Gotta ski! Sierra at Tahoe is a wonderful place to do that, and near Sawmill Pond you stumble on a golf course called Lake Tahoe Golf Course. All through the warm months, highs commonly are in the 70's at Sawmill Pond. For the period of the moonlight hours it's usually in the 40's.
