Sawmill Lake is one of the lakes here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Glide down the rapids of Fordyce Creek in a kayak, and the skiing at Royal Gorge is tremendous. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable things in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Going for a hike on the Bowman Mountain Trail is always a perfect adventure, and there are plenty of people from Truckee-Grass Valley here at Sawmill       Lake. Everybody nearby loves skiing at Soda Springs, and you could always look at Poison Canyon. The annual precipitation here at Sawmill Lake is about average; through January this area sees the most rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. At Sawmill Lake all through the summertime months highs are in the 90's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 40's. During the wintertime highs are mostly in the 40's, and night lows                  during the wintertime for Sawmill Lake tend to be in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Sawmill Lake without first going for a hike along the Glacier Lakes Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Deer Creek Inn. While you're here at Sawmill Lake, you could also take a look at pretty Rock Lake. There's so much to do here at Sawmill Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Jackson Creek Campground is a magnificent place for that. All year is a tremendous time in the Northern Sierra Nevada if you love the outdoors. There are nice sites to explore along the Crooked Lakes Trail, and Sawmill Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Canyon Creek Campground is a good local campground. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing things at Sawmill Lake. Shotgun Lake is a nearby lake that you could take a look at, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Yuba River - South Fork. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Chalet View Lodge is a splendid choice, and getting to Jackson Creek from Sawmill Lake is simple. I can't stop, cause I'm havin' a fine time here at Sawmill Lake.
