An average amount of precipitation falls at Sawmill Lake; most of the rain falls during January while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Whohoo, so many cool things in one place! Sawmill Lake rocks! Hiking along the Glacier Lakes Trail is nice fun; Chalet View Lodge is a brilliant site to get some rest. Just can't get enough of the Northern Sierra Nevada. Take a hike       on the Crooked Lakes Trail, and since you're here you will meet lots of people from close by Truckee-Grass Valley. All through the summertime at Sawmill Lake temperatures are typically in the 90's. Summer nighttime lows descend down to the 40's. For the period of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Sawmill Lake temperatures fall to the 20's. Poison Canyon is a fine location to have a look at nearby,                  and the snow is wonderful at Soda Springs. This lake is so wonderful. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Royal Gorge, and get your pulse rate up on the tremendous whitewater of Yuba River - South Fork. All the outdoors amusing stuff right next door to Sawmill Lake will keep you coming back persistently. A perfect close by hotel is Deer Creek Inn, and Jackson Creek is right next door to Sawmill Lake and is always a diversion to check out. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Bowman Mountain Trail, and Sawmill Lake is a glorious place to camp, Canyon Creek Campground is a glorious place. You could also stop at Culbertson Lake while you're here at Sawmill Lake; it's nearby; Fir Hill can be seen from Sawmill Lake. This lake is located in the wonderful Northern Sierra Nevada. And that's not all the things to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada.
