In California there are many beautiful lakes, Sand Pond is one of them. If only every location had this much outdoors entertaining stuff, what a great world it would be. The Pacific Crest Trail - section 15 offers hiking at its best, and if you come at the right time of year, Lavezzola Creek offers some nice whitewater. Through the summer, highs commonly are in the 90's at Sand Pond. Through the moonlight hours it's generally in the 40's. For the duration of the

| | winter the highs are commonly in the 40's, and night lows at Sand Pond throughout the wintertime ordinarily drop into the 20's. There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Lakes? Sure, Upper Sardine Lake is in the vicinity; hiking is a popular thing to do around Sand Pond; Deer Lake Trail is a great local trail. is so wonderful. What would winter be without some skiing at Royal Gorge, and Big Springs is a fine local attraction. This lake is so wonderful. Sierra Skies RV Park is a glorious campground nearby, and some of the water nearby flows,
like Church Creek. At Sand Pond you always meet someone from Truckee-Grass Valley. Sand Pond is right by the Butcher Ranch Trail; not far from Sand Pond you'll stumble on Lower Sardine Lake which is a lovely lake. Sand Pond is
a beautiful lake in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Sand Pond gets a normal amount of precipitation; January is the month that gets the most rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. So much fun stuff to
do in the Northern Sierra Nevada, not sufficient time. The vista of Sierra Buttes from Sand Pond is stunning, and dry warm beds await you at Chalet View Lodge.
