After a long day outdoors Chalet View Lodge is a tremendous location to spend a night or two; don't leave Sand Pond without first going for a hike along the Deer Lake Trail. And that's not everything there is to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. The slopes of Royal Gorge are so inviting noone can resist; the Butcher Ranch Trail offers hiking at its best. Sand Pond gets a normal amount       of precipitation; all through January this area sees the most rain while July is frequently the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. You'll meet a lot of folks from Truckee-Grass Valley here, and it's a great idea to explore Church Creek. Sand Pond is a beautiful lake in the Northern Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful. Get your pulse rate up on the splendid whitewater of Lavezzola Creek; Big Springs is a picturesque place to go to while you're at                  Sand Pond. The warmest time of the year at Sand Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 90's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's while Sand Pond night low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 20's. Sierra Skies RV Park is a good campground nearby; not far from Sand Pond you'll discover Upper Sardine Lake which is a picturesque lake. There's whitewater on Yuba River - North Fork for all you adrenaline people. There's just no way anyone can get bored here at Sand Pond. The sight of Sierra Buttes from Sand Pond is gorgeous; there's splendid hiking along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 15.
