User input for Salt Springs Reservoir, Northern Sierra Nevada, Amador County, California:
Bob Shaffer: I went to Salt Spring years ago, launched my boat, and boat camped and fished for a few days. I planned the same trip yesterday. We went in when still dark down a narrow 18 mile road from HWY 88. When we got to the dam, we found that the boat ramp was closed to trail launching. There is a small sign that says so near Hwy 88, but its real easy to miss. We read up on Salt Springs in several publications. Nowhere did it mention no boat launching!!! The ramp is still there, but blocked off. I wish PG&E would fix that!
