User input for Salmon Lake, Northern Sierra Nevada, Placer County, California:
Brian Hamilton: An easy hike from the trail near Hyusink lake. Typically very few hikers/campers at this lake (nice!). A stunning view from the high rocks Southwest of the lake itself. I don't have a paicture to upload, but imagine massive granite outcropping, Juniper and evergreens, a small intimate mountain lake, and you are there!

Salmon Lake is a wet location that gets much precipitation; January is when you get the most rain here; July is the month with the least moisture. Now, you may assume that's plenty but there's even more cool stuff to do here at Salmon Lake. While you're here at Salmon Lake, you could also go to scenic High Loch Leven Lake; the sight of pretty Cherry Point is good. This lake is so wonderful. What would winter be without some skiing at Royal Gorge, and you can
