Salmon Lake is a beautiful lake in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Now, you may think that's a lot but there's even more fun things to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. There's so much to do here at Salmon Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Cold Springs Campground is a tremendous spot for that; going for a hike on the Loch Leven Trail is always a pleasant adventure. High temperatures at Salmon Lake during the       warm months are in the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 40's. Highs throughout the winter are frequently in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Salmon Lake. This lake is so wonderful. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Royal Gorge, and there is a brilliant hiking trail close by called the Salmon Lake Trail. Lots of folks from Truckee-Grass Valley come to Salmon Lake; in case                  you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Fordyce Creek. Salmon Lake sees pretty high levels of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is usually January, that's the one that rains the most; the driest of the months is July. Whohoo, so many enjoyable things in one place! The Northern Sierra Nevada rules! While you're here at Salmon Lake, you could also go to scenic High Loch Leven Lake, and at Salmon Lake you can catch a sight of Cherry Point. So much entertaining stuff to do at Salmon Lake, so little time. If you came to camp Sterling Lake Campground is a wonderful place to do that, and you can go for a hike on the Cherry Point Trail. Holiday Inn Express Truckee, Ca is a tremendous location to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. You must positively dedicate some time to Pelham Flat since you're here at Salmon Lake, and Yuba River - South Fork is a good whitewater spot close by.
