There's fine hiking along the Lassen Trail; a splendid close by hotel is Best Western Rose Quartz Inn. Oliver Flat is a good place; Mount Hope is clearly visible from Saddle Lake. This lake is one of the great places here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Just can't get enough of Saddle Lake. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Feather River - North Fork; don't       leave Saddle Lake without first going for a hike along the Carter Meadow Trail. There's so much to do here at Saddle Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Injun Jim Campground is a glorious spot for that; not far from Saddle Lake you'll locate Grassy Lake which is a stunning lake. This lake is so wonderful. There are other sites here than Saddle Lake, for example Long Lake, and if you need a site to stay Bailey Creek Cottages is a great choice. High                  temperatures at Saddle Lake all through the days of summer are in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 40's. High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 40's; nighttime lows in the 20's for Saddle Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Yellow Creek Trail. Saddle Lake sees pretty high levels of precipitation; January is when you get the most snow here, and the driest of the months is July. You definitely have to love the Northern Sierra Nevada.
