While staying at Runkle Reservoir you could always explore Meier Canyon, and Holiday Inn Express Simi Valley, Ca is a nice place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore nearby Sinaloa Lake; Runkle Reservoir is a good place to visit for more than one day, Camp Keystone is a good place to camp nearby.

Oaks-Ventura. Ten Oaks Retirement Village is a wonderful local campground; dry warm beds await you at Grand Vista Hotel Simi Valley. Get your pulse rate up on the great whitewater of Piru Creek, and the Simi Hills towers over
Runkle Reservoir. Near Runkle Reservoir you come across the Canton Canyon Trail which is a great hiking trail, and from Runkle Reservoir you get a magnificent panorama of Simi Hills. For the period of the summer, highs typically
are in the 80's at Runkle Reservoir. Summer night lows sink down to the 60's. During the winter highs are commonly in the 40's; nighttime lows in the 30's for Runkle Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. Simi Hills Golf Course is a good golf course close by; there is a delightful hiking trail close by called the Devil Canyon Trail.
