So much enjoyable stuff in the Northern Sierra Nevada, just impressive. Caples Lake Campground is a glorious campground nearby, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Bear Valley. There's just no way someone can get bored here at Round Top Lake. All the water falling down from the sky makes Round Top Lake a wet site; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily January,       that's the one that snows the most, and July is the month with the least moisture. At Round Top Lake all through the summer highs are in the 70's, and the nighttime is slightly colder of course, mostly in the 40's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 30's while Round Top Lake overnight low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 10's. Get yourself into a kayak and hit American River - South Fork, and after a long day outdoors Harvest Inn-St Helena,                  Napa Valley is a wonderful spot to spend a night or two. This lake is so perfect. The good people of Gardnerville Ranchos like to hang out nearby, and drift down the rapids of Mokelumne River - North Fork in a kayak. A lake like this is too good to miss. From Round Top Lake you obtain a pleasant panorama of Black Butte, and Round Top Lake is not the only spot nearby, Crater Lake is a nearby lake. Any time is a wonderful time at Round Top Lake if you like the outdoors. If you came for an overnight stay Woods Lake Campground is a splendid spot to camp, and a good close by hotel is Pine Cone Acre Motel. Really pleasant skiing awaits you at Kirkwood; don't leave Round Top Lake without first going for a hike along the Hawley Grade Trail. And that's not all there is to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Emigrant Creek flows through this region, and splendid hiking is available along the Charity Valley Trail. If you get bored of Round Top Lake, you could also pop by close by Fourth of July Lake, and there's great hiking along the Burnside Lake Trail.
