A fine spot to camp here at Lake Riverside is Cowboy Country Campground, and nice hiking is available along the Aguanga Trail. If you want a great time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Lake Riverside. A brilliant nearby hotel is Idyllwild Inn. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun stuff in the Santa Rosa Mountains. After a long day       outdoors Cedar Street Inn and Spa is a great place to spend a night or two, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Lake Riverside; Rouse Hill-Bautista Canyon Trail is a good local trail. During the warm days of summer at Lake Riverside highs are generally in the 90's; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 60's while the cold winter nights at Lake Riverside are in the 30's. Lake Riverside                  is pretty dried up typically; throughout the month of March you get the most rain around here; the driest of the months is June. The Santa Rosa Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Don't leave Lake Riverside without first going for a hike along the Alessandro Trail, and there's some flowing water close by, Elder Creek is a stream you can check out while you're here. This lake is so wonderful.
