Nearby lakes? Sure, Spicer Meadow Reservoir is close to Rhodes Lake. Summertime brings highs in the 60's to Rhodes Lake. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 40's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Rhodes Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for       everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Stanislaus River - Middle Fork, and camping is available at Stanislaus River Campground. You simply should have a thing about the Northern Sierra Nevada. While you're here at Rhodes Lake you can take a hike along the Emigrant Trail; you're probably addicted to lakes, Union Reservoir is one of those close by. If you come at the right time of year, Mokelumne River - North Fork offers some pleasant whitewater, and                  on a great day you can take a hike along the Charity Valley Trail. Man, is there a heap of entertaining things to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. What would winter be without some skiing at Dodge Ridge, and if you came for an overnight stay Sand Flat Campground is a good site to camp. A large amount of rainfall falls at Rhodes Lake; the month with most of the snow is January; July is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. The Meadow is a delightful place to get some rest, and the slopes of Bear Valley are so inviting noone can resist. This lake is one of the great places here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. This is no location for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves.
