     Red Mountain Reservoir is a spot with many visitors from San Diego-Carlsbad-San Marcos. Lakes? Sure, Martin Reservoir is close at hand. If you come at the right time of year, Escondido Creek offers some good whitewater, and if you need a place to stay Pala Mesa Resort is a wonderful choice. Red Mountain Reservoir gets very little rain; the month with most of the rain is February; the driest of the months is June. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Red Mountain  
   Reservoir; Gomez Trail is a splendid local trail, and there are other places here than Red Mountain Reservoir, for example Ross Lake.
The warmest time of the year at Red Mountain Reservoir comes with high temperatures in the 90's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 60's while Red Mountain Reservoir overnight low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 30's. Good hiking is available along the Magee
 
               Trail, and float down the rapids of Santa Margarita River in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful. Red Mountain Reservoir is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, All Seasons RV Park is a delightful local campground, and if you came to camp Champagne Lakes RV Resort is a fine place to do that.
This lake is so wonderful. One of the governing highlights of the surroundings of Red Mountain Reservoir is Red Mountain, and an afternoon playing golf at Fallbrook Golf Club is always a pleasure. Yeah, come here to Red Mountain Reservoir for a great time. There's great hiking along the Mission Trail; Comfort Inn La Estancia is a wonderful spot to get some rest.

...aff hospitality was A++. The office shares the backside of the local pub and outdoor cafe next to the lake. Very quaint, unfortunately it was about 113 degrees with a fair amount of humidity and we didn't feel very motivated to enjoy the outdoor seating, which was your only option.

The park itself is aging and the wiring is there to prove it. No apparent upgrades were evident. We experienced outages daily and had to rely on our generator, which added about an additional 65 dollars in gas to stay at what was supposed to be a full hookup facility. California gas prices were at $3.59 a gallon. Ouch. While the manager tried to explain there were surges throughout the town, some of the local year-round residents who were hard wired, reported no problems. We had a family staying next to us in an Allegro Bus who really struggled with the electrical issues. Their breaker simply couldn't handle the load.
