This lake is so wonderful. Rainbow Lake is a perfect location to visit for more than one day, Brandy Creek Campground is a perfect location to camp nearby, and hiking along the Bluford Trail is wonderful fun. Rainbow Lake gets a normal amount of rain; during the month of January you get the most rain       around here; July on the other hand is the driest. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Cottonwood Creek - North Fork, and Rainbow Lake is not the only spot nearby, Whiskeytown Lake is a nearby lake. Stay the night at Dry Creek Campground; a nice place to take a look at is Taylor Gulch. There's always Musselbeck Dam to have a look at next to Rainbow Lake; if you haven’t been to Whiskeytown National Recreation Area, you have to schedule some time for it since you're                  here. Just can't get enough of Rainbow Lake. There are some tremendous whitewater spots on Cottonwood Creek - Middle Fork, and why not a little side spree to Moon Fork Cottonwood Creek. This lake is so wonderful. All through the warm months, highs mostly are in the 90's at Rainbow Lake, and the nighttime is a bit colder of course, frequently in the 40's.
