You could also have a look at Lewiston Lake while you're here at Rainbow Lake; it's close by, and dry warm beds await you at Americas Best Value Inn/Redding. This lake is so wonderful. Rainbow Lake is a perfect location to visit for more than one day, Brandy Creek Campground is a perfect location to camp nearby, and hiking along the Bluford Trail is wonderful fun. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Cottonwood Creek - North Fork, and Rainbow Lake is not the only spot nearby, Whiskeytown Lake is a nearby lake. Stay the night at Dry Creek Campground; a nice place to take a look at is Taylor Gulch. here. Just can't get enough of Rainbow Lake. There are some tremendous whitewater spots on Cottonwood Creek - Middle Fork, and why not a little side spree to Moon Fork Cottonwood Creek. This lake is so wonderful. All through the
warm months, highs mostly are in the 90's at Rainbow Lake, and the nighttime is a bit colder of course, frequently in the 40's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 40's, and night lows in the 20's for Rainbow Lake.
