This lake is so wonderful. A perfect site to explore close to Rae Lakes is Glen Pass, and there is a great hiking trail nearby called the Mount Whitney Trail. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors amusing stuff the area next       to Rae Lakes has to offer. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Rae Lakes has to offer, you can camp at Symmes Creek Campground; Dragon Lake is a nearby lake that you could visit. For the period of the summer, highs usually are in the 70's at Rae Lakes, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and overnight lows at Rae Lakes all through the wintertime usually descend                  into the 20's. The peak of Black Mountain can be seen from Rae Lakes, and on a great day you can take a hike along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 11. So much exciting stuff to do here in the Southern Sierra Nevada, too great to be true. If you get bored of Rae Lakes, you could also take a look at close by Arrowhead Lake, and don’t forget to have a look at Sixty Lake Basin while you're here at Rae Lakes. Around Rae Lakes you don’t get a lot of rainfall; during the month of January you get the most rain around here while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
