Grouse Lake
 | 11 miles away Great hiking, the trail starts at Wrights Lake, which is a beautiful lake in its own right, and heads up. If your looking for a good walking trail I would suggest staying on the Wrights Lake ''loop'' trail that circles the lake. But if you want a good hiking/climbing trail the Grouse Lake hike is the one for you. Even in late August the wild flowers were still in bloom and when you reach the top you cannot ask for better views of the surrounding area. From certain points in the trail you can see Ice House Lake as well as looking down on Wrights Lake. I am a bit on the older side so I stop and rest 3-4 times on the way up and it took me a little over 2 hours to reach the top, the last 10-15 minutes were rather steep, but well worth it. There are 2 more lakes beyond Grouse Lake that are an easy walk.... |
