At Purple Lake you don’t see much precipitation; all through the month of January you get the most rain around here, and June is the month with the least moisture. High temperatures at Purple Lake during the months of summer are in the 70's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's, and nighttime lows in the 20's for Purple       Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Mammoth Rock Trail is pleasant fun; soar down the rapids of Mono Creek in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Sherwin Lakes Trail, and the slopes of Mammoth Mountain are so inviting noone can resist. If you need a place to stay Rodeway Inn Sierra Nevada is a brilliant choice, and you can stay the night at McGee Creek RV Park and Campground. Be careful coming to the Central Sierra Nevada, you                  might not ever wanna return home again. Cold Water Campground is a great campground nearby, and get yourself into a kayak and hit San Joaquin River - South Fork. Yeah, come up here to the Central Sierra Nevada for a nice time. Devils Postpile National Monument is one of the destinations in the vicinity of Purple Lake that are splendid to go to, and there are other spots here than Purple Lake, for example Pika Lake. And if that's not sufficient, there's a lot more to do close to Purple Lake. Snowcreek Resort is a brilliant spot to get some rest; why not visit nearby Purple Creek if you're here at Purple Lake. Gotta ski!
