This location, the Central Sierra Nevada, has so much outdoors amusing things. This is a perfect vicinity for folks who like lakes. Chewing Gum Lake is a lake in the vicinity, and hey, Gotta ski right? Bear Valley is a good place to do that. Powell Lake is a wet site that gets a great deal of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is mostly January, that's the one that snows the most; July is the month with the least moisture. Rock can be seen from Powell Lake. At Powell Lake during the months of summer highs are in the 60's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's with temperatures at Powell Lake dipping
down into the 10's during winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. The Emigrant Trail is a delightful hiking trail right next door to Powell Lake, and Horse and Cow Meadow is a pleasant place to stretch your legs a bit.
