Hiking along the Pine Creek Trail is glorious fun. Lakes? Sure, Pine Creek Reservoir is in the vicinity. So much entertaining stuff near Porter Reservoir, completely phenomenal. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by close by Porter Reservoir, and a glorious close by hotel is Super 8 Alturas. But wait, there's more cool stuff to do in       the Warner Mountains. Near Porter Reservoir you locate brilliant places like Fern Spring Canyon, and Porter Reservoir is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Sully's Trailer Lodge is a nice local campground. Have a pleasant hiking adventure along the Owl Creek Trail; a great place to camp here at Porter Reservoir is Cedar Pass Campground. During the long summer days, highs ordinarily are in the 80's at Porter Reservoir with nighttime lows in the 40's. Daytime                  highs through the wintertime are in the 40's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Porter Reservoir drop into the 10's. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Warner Mountains.
