Poonkinny Lake is a beautiful lake in the Coast Ranges. But wait, there's more cool stuff to do in the Coast Ranges. There's so much to do here at Poonkinny Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Creekside Cabins and RV Resort is a pleasant location for that. Through the months of summer here at Poonkinny Lake, high temperatures typically get into the 90's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. All through       the winter the highs are typically in the 50's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Poonkinny Lake. Going for a hike on the Ben Duncan Mailbox Trail is always a brilliant adventure, and what would a spot like Poonkinny Lake be without exciting close by marks like Windy Point. Poonkinny Lake usually gets lots of rain; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is July. What a spot this is for outdoors                  people. In case you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Eel River; if you came to camp Quail Meadows RV Campground is a fine place to do that.
