All through the warmest time of the year at Pitt Lake temperatures are generally in the 70's, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. All through the winter highs are in the 40's while Pitt Lake overnight low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 10's. Whohoo, so many fun things in one place! The Northern Sierra Nevada rules! A pleasant tour to Desolation Valley is a good way to spend an afternoon;       there's great hiking along the Hawley Grade Trail. This lake is one of the great places here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. If you like the outdoors, you'll love Pitt Lake. Sayles Flat Campground is a great campground nearby, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Silver Creek - South Fork. This lake is so wonderful. A spree to Pitt Lake wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Horsetail Falls, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can                  always visit close by Avalanche Lake. So much enjoyable stuff to do here at Pitt Lake, too tremendous to be true. Pine Cone Acre Motel is a glorious spot to get some rest, and the Windmiller Trail offers hiking at its best. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Sierra at Tahoe; Pyramid Creek is right next door to Pitt Lake and is always a delight to pop by. Pitt Lake is a delightful place to visit for more than one day, Fortyfive Mile Campground is a delightful place to camp nearby; on a pretty day you get a fine vista of Cracked Crag from Pitt Lake. This is a popular spot for folks from Gardnerville Ranchos; get drenched paddling on American River - South Fork. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Harvest Inn-St Helena, Napa Valley is a brilliant location to spend a night or two; Kirkwood has perfect slopes and a friendly staff. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors amusing things the Northern Sierra Nevada has to offer. Rocky Canyon is a good site to visit close by. Now, you may imagine that's a lot but there's even more amusing stuff to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Lakes? Sure, Ropi Lake is around here, and Pitt Lake is right by the Red Peak Trail.
