Go to Pit Six Reservoir if you want to go to a nice lake. This lake is located in the wonderful Southern Cascade Range. Whitewater paddling is good on Pit River, and you can go for a hike on the Pacific Crest Trail - section 17. Just can't get enough of the Southern Cascade Range. If you came for an overnight stay Hawkins Landing Campground is a glorious location to camp; don't leave Pit Six Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Rough and Ready Trail.

While it was not anything special or out of the ordinary, the staff was friendly and accomodating and the atmosphere was very family friendly. I would suggest Fowlers to any family wanting just a nice vacation together, but if you are a camping enthusiast and are used to having high standards for your camping experience, you may want to search around a bit more before you decide to stay at Fowlers as it may be a bit more mediocre than what you are used to camping at. ... |
