Many people like to go to Pit Four Reservoir. Pit Four Reservoir is located in the Southern Cascade Range. Paddling on Pit River is so much fun; going for a hike on the Coal Mine Trail is always a wonderful adventure. This lake is so wonderful. Deep Creek Campground is a brilliant local campground, and you can go for a hike on the Rough and Ready Trail.

There is a great hiking trail near Pit Four Reservoir called the Pacific Crest Trail - section 17; at Pit Four Reservoir you always meet someone from Redding. A good deal of rainfall falls at Pit Four Reservoir; through January this area sees the most rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors fun stuff
the area in close proximity to Pit Four Reservoir has to offer. Rim Campground is a great campground nearby, and do check out Poison Creek while you're here at Pit Four Reservoir. At Pit Four Reservoir through the months of summer
highs are in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's while the cold winter nights at Pit Four Reservoir are in the 20's.
