     But wait, there's more cool things to do in the Southern Cascade Range. While you're here at Pit Four Reservoir you can take a hike along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 17, and camping is available at Rim Campground. Since you're here at Pit Four Reservoir why not stop by Malinda Gulch; Pit Four Dam has tremendous water scenery. So many amusing things near Pit Four Reservoir, just amazing. On a pleasant day at Pit Four Reservoir you can take a hike along  
   the Rough and Ready Trail. Lakes? Sure, Summit Lake is close by.
The high level of precipitation makes Pit Four Reservoir a relatively wet site; January is the month that gets the most rain; July meanwhile is the driest month. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Southern Cascade Range. Camping at Deep Creek Campground is always a nice experience; there are some great whitewater spots on Pit River. Pit Four Reservoir is one of the lakes here in the Southern
 
               Cascade Range.
This lake is so wonderful. A short journey to Mud Spring is always worthwhile, and if the weather is pleasant, you can go for a hike along the Coal Mine Trail. Not far from Pit Four Reservoir, you'll find Pit Four Reservoir which is a scenic lake, and while you're here you will meet lots of folks from close by Redding. This lake is so wonderful. Don't forget to take a pleasant little tour to Poison Creek.
During the days of summer, highs regularly are in the 80's at Pit Four Reservoir. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 40's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 40's with temperatures at Pit Four Reservoir dipping down into the 20's through winter nights.

This peak is trailless, meaning a portion or all of the route up the mountain is via an unmarked trail. For this particular mountain, the typical route is known as a ''herd path'' which is not much more than a worn, but unmarked trail. Some of the herd paths are easy to follow, others are not.
