Tunnel Reservoir is a nearby lake that you could stop at; do take a hike on the Nelson Flat Trail. Dry warm beds await you at Dunsmuir Travelodge, and while you're here you will meet lots of people from nearby Redding. Man, is there a load of entertaining things to do in the Southern Cascade Range. If you're here at Pit 7 Reservoir, you could explore Hogback Creek, and from       Pit 7 Reservoir you obtain a glorious view of Hogback Mountain. Hiking along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 17 is glorious fun. The high level of precipitation makes Pit 7 Reservoir a relatively wet site; through the month of January you get the most rain around here; July on the other hand is the driest. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors cool things the area right next door to Pit 7 Reservoir has to offer. While you're here at Pit 7 Reservoir,                  you could also go to pretty Pit Six Reservoir, and you can stay the night at Arbuckle Flat Campground. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Pit 7 Reservoir it's a splendid idea to pop by Fenders Flat, and Pit 7 Reservoir is a tremendous place to visit for more than one day, Madrone Campground is a tremendous place to camp nearby. So much cool stuff to do here in the Southern Cascade Range, too splendid to be true. Get your pulse rate up on the great whitewater of McCloud River, and Constant Flow Gulch is close at hand, and is a great location. High temperatures at Pit 7 Reservoir during the warm days of summer are in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 40's. Throughout the winter this place gets highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Pit 7 Reservoir. Pit 7 Reservoir is one of the lakes here in the Southern Cascade Range.
