From a precipitation point of view Pilarcitos Lake is a quite typical site; the wettest month of the year is usually January, that's the one that rains the most; the driest of the months is July. The warmest time of the year at Pilarcitos Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 50's, and nighttime lows in the 30's for Pilarcitos Lake. There's       no way someone can get bored here in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Miramar Beach is close to Pilarcitos Lake if you're in a beach type of mood, and you'll hit upon a wonderful lake called San Andreas Lake. Pilarcitos Lake is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, Pillar Point RV Park is a splendid local campground, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Pescadero Creek. Ox Hill is charming and can be made out from Pilarcitos Lake, and if you're looking for a nice trip, Juan Bautista De Anza National Historic Trail is quite near. This lake is so wonderful. Crystal Springs Golf Course is a golf course near Pilarcitos Lake; if the weather is delightful, you can go for a hike along the Trappers Trail.
