Picayune Lake is a lake worth visiting. This lake is so wonderful. Picayune Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Gumboat Campground is a great local campground. The Sisson Calahan National Recreation Trail is a delightful hiking trail in the neighborhood of Picayune Lake, and dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Central. For the duration of the summertime here at Picayune Lake, high temperatures generally get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it

Express WEED (MOUNT SHASTA AREA) is a glorious choice, and there are some great whitewater spots on Trinity River - East Fork. Near Picayune Lake you locate the Castle Lake Trail which is a great hiking trail; you can hit the slopes
at Mount Shasta around here. Not much rainfall falls here at Picayune Lake; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain, and the driest month of the year is July.
