Picayune Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. There's so much to do here at Picayune Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Red Bank Campground is a good site for that. Looking for something in the vicinity of Picayune Lake? Mud Lake is in the neighborhood; get yourself into a kayak and hit Salmon River - North Fork. Just can't get enough of Picayune Lake. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Picayune Lake

| | has to offer, you can camp at Hotelling Campground; hiking along the Salmon Summit Recreation Trail is pleasant fun. Through the long summer days, highs typically are in the 90's at Picayune Lake. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. Tanners Peak Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, and a pleasant place is China Gulch. This lake is so wonderful. Picayune Lake is right by the Garden Gulch Trail; China Point is close by and always glorious
to explore. There's no way anybody can get bored here in the Klamath Mountains. Get dripping wet paddling on Salmon River - South Fork; while you're here, you could visit Big Creek. Interesting geology is available here; Dougherty
Bluff is in the vicinity of Picayune Lake, and Picayune Lake is not the only location nearby, Jones Lake is a nearby lake. This lake is one of the great places here in the Klamath Mountains. Picayune Lake is a pretty wet place
generally with much rain; most of the rain falls all through December while July is ordinarily the driest month. So many enjoyable things to do in the Klamath Mountains, not enough time. Sawpit Flat is a good site, and Baymont Inn Yreka is a delightful place to get some rest.
