Go to Phoenix Reservoir if you want to go to a nice lake. That right there is plenty of amusing stuff already but it goes on, the Central Sierra Nevada has it all. Phoenix Reservoir is great enough to spend more than a day at, Big Meadow - Stanislaus National Forest is a great local campground, and near Phoenix Reservoir you come across a golf course called Phoenix Lake Golf Course. There's so much to do here at Phoenix Reservoir that you need to camp here

| | for a while, Pinecrest - Stanislaus National Forest is a splendid place for that, and there are some splendid whitewater spots on Clavey River. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Stanislaus River - Middle Fork; if you need a spot to stay Best Western Sonora Oaks is a splendid choice.

you get the most rain around here, and July is the month with the least moisture. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Phoenix Reservoir.
Lots of folks from Phoenix Lake-Cedar Ridge come to Phoenix Reservoir; a brilliant
close by hotel is Sonora Days Inn. During the warm months at Phoenix Reservoir highs are regularly in the 90's with overnight lows in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 50's; overnight lows during the wintertime for Phoenix Reservoir tend to be in the 30's.
