A delightful spot like Furnace Flat here at Phoenix Lake is too pleasant to miss, and lots of people from Truckee-Grass Valley come here. Dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express TRUCKEE, and of course, this is a delightful area for folks who like lakes, Baltimore Lake is a lake in the neighborhood. So many fun things to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada, too wonderful to be true. Yuba River - South Fork is a splendid whitewater       spot near Phoenix Lake, and why not head up to Royal Gorge and strap some skis to your feet. This lake is so wonderful. A day on the slopes of Soda Springs is just what you need. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Phoenix Lake has to offer, you can camp at Sterling Lake Campground. Phoenix Lake truly is in the middle of a wonderful outdoors paradise. A splendid spot for whitewater paddling in the neighborhood of Phoenix Lake is Fordyce Creek,                  and hiking is a popular thing to do around Phoenix Lake; Loch Leven Trail is a wonderful local trail. Go for a hike on the Glacier Lakes Trail. There's so much to do here at Phoenix Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Indian Springs Campground is a great place for that. Man, is there a heap of amusing things to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Good hiking is available along the Glacier Lakes Trail; in all probability you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Wagon Wheel Lake is just a very short distance away. On a pretty day you get a sight of Fordyce Summit from Phoenix Lake. All through the long summer days highs here at Phoenix Lake get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Phoenix Lake are in the 20's.
