I was just diagnosed with Lyme Disease from a hike around Phoenix Lake.  It happened February 8, 2009.  It's a beautiful hike but just take precautions!

Yeah... my buddy got lyme disease here when we were kids. Too many ticks everywhere.

Phoenix lake is a great place to visit if you're in the area. It's beautiful. Very secluded.

    Phoenix Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. Phoenix Lake is located in the Coast Ranges. For the period of the summer months highs here at Phoenix Lake get into the 80's while overnight lows are usually in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 50's, and overnight lows in the 30's for Phoenix Lake. Man, is there a load of exciting stuff to do in the Coast Ranges. Bill Williams Creek flows through this region, and if you have  
   the time, Muir Woods National Monument is a national park worth taking a look at.
Alpine Lake is a nearby lake that you could take a look at; if you want to hit the beach, Red Rock Beach is close at hand. Going for a hike on the Lagunitas Fire Trail is always a perfect adventure, and from Phoenix Lake you obtain a great view of Bald Hill. So much exciting stuff to do at Phoenix Lake, so little time. A short spree to Colier Spring is always worthwhile, and
 
               if you need a spot to stay Mill Valley Inn is a splendid choice.
This place is unbeatable, just check out all the amusing things to do near Phoenix Lake. Fish Gulch is a great spot to have a look at close by. There's so much to do here at Phoenix Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Marin Park is a great site for that. This lake is so wonderful. You'll meet a lot of people from San Francisco-Oakland-Fremont here, and San Geronimo Golf Course is a magnificent golf course nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the North Side Trail is always a perfect adventure, and Lake Lagunitas is a nearby lake that you could stop at.
All year is a great time in the Coast Ranges if you adore the outdoors. There's so much to do here at Phoenix Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Laurel Dell Campground is a wonderful place for that, and if you need a place to stay Four Points By Sheraton San Rafael is a good choice. So many amusing things to do here in the Coast Ranges, too splendid to be true. Going for a hike on the Colier Spring Trail is always a great adventure, and if you want to hit the beach, Muir Beach is close by.
Lots of precipitation falls at Phoenix Lake; the month with most of the rain is January while July is commonly the driest month.
