A day at stunning Lester Beach close to Phipps Lake is a great thing to do, and there's whitewater on American River - South Fork for all you adrenaline rush seekers. Summertime highs at Phipps Lake usually tend to be in the 70's, and the night is slightly cooler of course, frequently in the 40's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 40's, and night lows during the wintertime for Phipps Lake tend to be in the 10's. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Northern Sierra Nevada. Going for a hike on the Red Peak Trail is always a wonderful adventure, and at Phipps Lake you always meet someone from Gardnerville Ranchos.
