Phipps Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. That right there is loads already, but it keeps on going; Phipps Lake has it all. The Red Peak Trail is a delightful hiking trail in close proximity to Phipps Lake, and Phipps Pass is another good place to check out close by. The Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Homewood if you're here; a perfect place for whitewater

This lake is so wonderful. Do take a look at Stony Ridge Lake near Phipps Lake, it's a picturesque lake. There's so much to do here at Phipps Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Bayview Campground is a perfect place for that. This is no place for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. Cove Beach is practically right here. And that's not all the things you can do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. The Truckee Hotel is a glorious location to get some rest, and if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along
the General Creek Trail.
So much entertaining stuff in the Northern Sierra Nevada, just inspiring. Skiing at Sierra at Tahoe is one of those things you just have to do; you can run the rapids of American River - South Fork. Just
can't get enough of the Northern Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Phipps Lake has to offer, you can camp at Eagle Falls Campground, and a splendid nearby hotel is Pine Cone
Acre Motel.
You'll discover a pretty lake called Cliff Lake near Phipps Lake; on a splendid day it's a good idea to spend the day at Lester Beach. Through the warm days of summer at Phipps Lake temperatures are typically in the
70's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's, and all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Phipps Lake temperatures fall to the 10's. Phipps Lake
gets a normal amount of annual rain; through January this area sees the most snow; July is when it's the driest.
On a pleasant day at Phipps Lake you can take a hike along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 14, and if you're stopping by from Gardnerville Ranchos, you won't be the only one.
