Patterson Reservoir is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. Not much precipitation falls here at Patterson Reservoir; most of the rain falls through January, and July on the other hand is the driest. If you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Mountain House Golf Course is close at hand, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Arroyo Mocho River. Patterson Reservoir really is in the middle of a beautiful outdoors paradise.

| | Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Vineyard Inn, and lakes are such peaceful locations, why not check out Frick Lake. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors La Quinta Inn Livermore is a pleasant place to spend a night or two. great whitewater. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Patterson Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at Vasco Mobile Home Park. At Patterson Reservoir all through the warmest time of the year highs are in the 80's.
Through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 60's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 50's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Patterson Reservoir. Lots of people from San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara come to Patterson Reservoir, and you'll stumble on a striking lake called Lake del Valle.

 | 1 PHOTO This is a seasonal creek, not a river. The picture below is from early April. The only possible way to kayak or raft this would be during or immediately after a major storm. And the brush on the creek banks would likely be your undoing. I've never heard of anyone ever kayaking this creek.

Carnegie Ohv State Recreation
 | ...ers. If you look closely you'll see animal life, including red-tailed hawks, golden eagles, black-tailed deer, coyotes, and bobcats.
There are 23 designated campsites and overflow camping available to the public. Carnegie is a great place to spend the night recovering from a hard day's riding and preparing for the next day. Camping is only $10. 00 per night per vehicle and is available on a first-come, first served basis. Call ahead during the winter riding season to make sure sites are available, as the campground fills early on weekends (925) 447-9027.
Campsites can have tents and RVs of any size and include a fire pit and a shade structure. Two bathrooms are available with water, toilets, and coin-operated showers. No RV hookups or dumping station are available. The water at Carnegie is potable, but you might want to bring extra drinking water.
Riding stops at dark and quiet time in the campground is from 10 p. M. To 7 a. M. Pets are allowed on a leash during the day and in a vehicle or tent at night. Fires must be contained in fire pits or barbeque grills. Co... |

Great days!!...In the late 1960's and early 70 maybe 71 we use to sneak onto the property to fish. The fish were very nice size as this was posted property and may not be ventured to the lake.
