Salmon River - South Fork has a glorious whitewater paddling spot nearby, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Deacon Lee Trail. So many exciting things in the Klamath Mountains, just tremendous. The Salmon Mountains is one of the things that make Papoose Lake so glorious, and a lake nearby is Forbidden Lakes. A typical amount of rainfall falls here at Papoose Lake; December is when       you get the most rain here, and July meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Do pay a visit to Whiskeytown National Recreation Area while you're here at Papoose Lake. There's so much to do here at Papoose Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Ripstein Campground is a great site for that. In the event that you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Trinity River - North Fork, and Mount Hilton is                  uncomplicated to spot from Papoose Lake. And that's not all you can do here in the Klamath Mountains. If you came to camp Hobo Gulch Campground is a brilliant place to do that. During the days of summer highs here at Papoose Lake reach the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 40's. For the duration of the winter highs are ordinarily in the 40's with temperatures at Papoose Lake dipping down into the 20's all through winter nights. This lake is located in the wonderful Klamath Mountains.
