    If you are in Trinity county it's always a good idea to stop by Papoose Lake. Throughout the warm months, highs usually are in the 80's at Papoose Lake. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 40's. Highs during the winter are ordinarily in the 40's, and nighttime lows in the 20's for Papoose Lake. This is a good neighborhood for folks who like lakes. Forbidden Lakes is a lake in the neighborhood, and the peaks of the Salmon Mountains  
   dominate the scenery of this neighborhood. There's no way anybody can get bored here in the Klamath Mountains. A visit to Whiskeytown National Recreation Area is worthwhile.
Get yourself into a kayak and hit Salmon River - South Fork, and Papoose Lake is right by the Tanners Peak Trail. If you want a magnificent time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Papoose Lake. Drift down the rapids of Trinity River - North Fork in a kayak. There's so much to
 
               do here at Papoose Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Hobo Gulch Campground is a great location for that. Papoose Lake is one of the lakes here in the Klamath Mountains.
So much fun stuff to do in the Klamath Mountains, not enough time. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Papoose Lake has to offer, you can camp at Ripstein Campground; why not take a refreshing hike along the Deacon Lee Trail. This lake is so wonderful. You can observe Mount Hilton from Papoose Lake, and you're possibly hooked on lakes, Lois Lake is one of those nearby. Papoose Lake gets a typical amount of rain; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain, and July on the other hand is the driest.
