If you want to hit the beach, San Clemente City Beach is close at hand; a glorious site to camp here at Palisades Reservoir is San Clemente State Beach. This lake is so wonderful. Taking a little visit to nearby Capistrano Bight is
a wonderful idea, and as expected Horno Creek is a gorgeous stream that is worth checking out.
Why not take a refreshing hike along the Morrow Trail; a visit to Poche Beach is always a delightful idea. At Palisades Reservoir you
always meet someone from Los Angeles-Long Beach-Santa Ana, and a round of golf at nearby San Juan Hills Country Club is a great way to kill some time. Best Western Dana Point Inn-By-The-Sea is a magnificent spot to get some rest,
and while you're here at Palisades Reservoir, checking out Coyote Bluff is a must.
Palisades Reservoir gets very little rainfall; January is the wettest month with most rain; the driest of the months is July. This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the San Juan Trail, and if you fancy a little side journey, try Deep Canyon.
