     This lake is one of the great places here in the Central Sierra Nevada. After a long day outdoors The Ahwahnee is a glorious location to spend a night or two, and probably you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Upper Ottoway Lake is just a very short distance away. If you come at the right time of year, Merced River - South Fork offers some good whitewater; if you have the time, Yosemite National Park is a national park worth visiting.

   of cool stuff to do in the Central Sierra Nevada. Camping is available at Upper Chiquito Campground, and if you've had enough of Ottoway Lakes, Lower Ottoway Lake is close by. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Ottoway Lakes. Everybody close by loves skiing at Badger Pass, and the Half Dome Trail offers hiking at its best. Why not camp at Bowler Group Campground while you're here at Ottoway Lakes, and there's glorious hiking along the John Muir  
               Trail - section 1.
So much entertaining stuff to do here in the Central Sierra Nevada, too brilliant to be true. At Ottoway Lakes you can observe Clark Range, and Red Peak Pass is another brilliant site to pop by nearby. Be careful coming to Ottoway Lakes, you might not ever wanna go back home again. High temperatures at Ottoway Lakes all through the warm months are in the 80's with night lows in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Ottoway Lakes.
The amount of rain that falls at Ottoway Lakes is close to the national average; the wettest month of the year is commonly January, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month is July. This lake is so wonderful. The landscape around Ottoway Lakes is dominated by the Clark Range, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Tenaya Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Clouds Rest Trail; dry warm beds await you at dnc -- Wawona Hotel.
