All through the warmest time of the year highs here at Ostrander Lake reach the 80's. Summer overnight lows plunge down to the 50's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 40's, and nighttime lows at Ostrander Lake all through the wintertime mostly sink into the 20's. This lake is one of the great places here in the Central Sierra Nevada. Stay the night at Upper Pines       Campground, and a stunning lake like Chilnualna Lakes is a great spot to take a look at. Merced River - South Fork has a fine whitewater paddling spot close by, and you can have a nice hiking adventure along the Buena Vista Trail. A lot of rain falls at Ostrander Lake; most of the rain falls throughout January, and July is when it's the driest. Now, you may think that's a heap but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at Ostrander Lake. Dry warm beds await                  you at dnc -- Wawona Hotel; paddling on Big Creek is so much fun. But wait, there's more fun stuff to do in the Central Sierra Nevada. If you need a place to stay Yosemite Lodge at the Falls is a nice choice; do take a hike on the Mono Meadow Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the Panorama Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood, and Bridalveil Campground is a fine campground nearby. Having a great time in the Central Sierra Nevada is trouble-free. A spree to Yosemite National Park is worthwhile, and lakes are such peaceful places, why not check out Hart Lakes. This lake is so wonderful.
