Horsetail Falls is a beautiful place to take a look at while you're at Osma Lake, and there are some good whitewater spots on Silver Creek - South Fork. This lake is so wonderful. Really glorious skiing awaits you at Sierra at Tahoe, and if you're visiting from Gardnerville Ranchos, you won't be the only one. So many enjoyable       things in the Northern Sierra Nevada, just amazing. The Red Peak Trail offers hiking at its best; Lake Lucille is a pleasant lake nearby. The peak of Cracked Crag can be made out from Osma Lake, and Kirkwood has good slopes and a friendly staff. And if that's not enough, there's plenty more to do near Osma Lake. Why not camp at Lovers Leap Campground while you're here at Osma Lake; a glorious location like Desolation Valley here at Osma Lake is too wonderful                  to miss. And that's not all the things to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Sayles Flat Campground is a great local campground; Rocky Canyon is a delightful site to spend some time. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Osma Lake; Windmiller Trail is a nice local trail, and a quick visit to Pyramid Creek is positively a perfect idea. Osma Lake is a good spot of typical rain; the month of January is the wettest with most of the snow; the driest month is July. Good hiking is available along the Hawley Grade Trail, and if you need a location to stay Pine Cone Acre Motel is a great choice. This lake is so wonderful. There are other sites here than Osma Lake, for example Ropi Lake, and Harvest Inn-St Helena, Napa Valley is a great location to get some rest. This lake is located in the wonderful Northern Sierra Nevada. Just can't get enough of the Northern Sierra Nevada. If you come at the right time of year, American River - South Fork offers some glorious whitewater. At Osma Lake all through the days of summer highs are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 40's.
