This lake is so wonderful. An attention-grabbing thing to stop by in the vicinity of Ortega Reservoir is Ortega Dam; if you're here you can take a hike along the San Ysidro Trail. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing stuff in the Santa Ynez Mountains. If you came for an overnight stay Upper Blue Canyon Campground is a great place to camp; Ortega Hill is stunning and can be observed from here. This lake is so wonderful.       A delightful nearby hotel is Montecito Inn, and a lake nearby is Buell Reservoir. On a magnificent day at Ortega Reservoir you can take a hike along the Romero Trail, and if you need a place to stay Inn on Summer Hill is a nice choice. A day at beautiful West Beach near Ortega Reservoir is a good thing to do, and Romero Reservoir is a nearby lake that you could take a look at. Looking for some flowing water? Try Garrapata Creek; there is a splendid hiking                  trail close by called the Blue Canyon Trail. All year is a nice time in the Santa Ynez Mountains if you go for the outdoors. Romero Canyon is near Ortega Reservoir and is certainly a nice site to explore, and if time allows, Channel Islands National Park is a national park worth taking a look at.
