Don’t forget to go to Sawpit Flat while you're here at Onion Valley Reservoir, and in the event that you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Lavezzola Creek. Finger Board is a peak you can distinguish from Onion Valley Reservoir; Onion Valley Reservoir is a great location to visit for more than one day, Boulder Creek - Plumas National Forest is a great                  location to camp nearby. Onion Valley Reservoir gets a normal amount of rainfall; January is when you get the most snow here; July is the month with the least moisture. Be careful coming to the Northern Sierra Nevada, you might not ever want to go home again. A lake nearby is Delahunty Lake, and you can have a delightful hiking adventure along the Cleghorn Bar Trail. This lake is one of the great places here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful. Duck Soup Pond is a nearby lake that you could have a look at; do take a hike on the Finger Board Trail. That right there is lots of exciting stuff already but it goes on, the Northern Sierra Nevada has it all. Hiking along the Claremont Trail is magnificent fun; dry warm beds await you at Chalet View Lodge.
