     Onion Pond usually gets lots of precipitation; most of the rain falls through January; July on the other hand is the driest. Having a great time at Onion Pond is simple. Stay the night at Rivers End; there are some magnificent whitewater spots on Big Sulphur Creek. Man, is there a load of fun things to do in the Coast Ranges. While you're here at Onion Pond, you could also take a look at beautiful Moonshine Pond; you simply must go to Lions Head Rock if you're here  
   at Onion Pond.
Little Oat Mountain is scenic and can be seen from Onion Pond. You'll hit upon a delightful lake called Dugans Pond near Onion Pond; a nice site like The Racetrack here at Onion Pond is too good to miss. Summer at Onion Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 60's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 40's. Through the winter highs are in the 50's, and night lows in the 40's for Onion Pond.
You absolutely should love the
 
               Coast Ranges. Near Onion Pond you find glorious locations like Holmes Canyon, and do put some time aside to spend at Government Spring since you're here at Onion Pond. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Dawn Ranch is a magnificent location to spend a night or two; if you come at the right time of year, Russian River offers some splendid whitewater. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Onion Pond has to offer, you can camp at Bullfrog Pond Campground, and naturally Bearpen Creek flows through this vicinity.
This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Village Inn And Restaurant is a brilliant choice, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Monte Rio Fire Trail. Onion Pond is a beautiful lake in the Coast Ranges.

You don't mention the beautiful wine country roads to either drive through or ride bikes on, or Lake Sonoma's Yorty Creek, which is a nearby family swimming hole. You can kayak, swim, picnic and hike there. You can also paddle boat in to a few campgrounds.

There's also the fish hatchery near the dam on the lake, as well as some more scenic hiking and biking trails.
