The beauty of Oliver Lake is reason enough to stop by. The Lassen Trail offers hiking at its best, and you can stay the night at James Lee Campground. This lake is so wonderful. Shores Gap is a splendid site to discover, and a good panorama of picturesque Ben Lomond is available. Oliver Lake frequently gets much precipitation; the month of January is the wettest with most of the snow, and the driest month is July. The warmest time of the year at Oliver Lake

spot near Oliver Lake, and Best Western Rose Quartz is a great site to get some rest. If you need a place to stay Bailey Creek Cottages is a perfect choice, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Oliver Lake; Carter Meadow Trail
is a great local trail. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes? Sure, Mud Lake is close by, and there are other locations here than Oliver Lake, for example Murphy Lake. The Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful.

 | 17 miles away We camp at Potato Patch campground annually with several other families. It is a very nice campground on a beautiful river. There is not a lot to do nearby though and it is a primitive campground with pit toilets and no showers. There are no hookups for RVs, but we tent camp anyway. We mostly play by the river (very cold water). Our attraction is the beauty and the people we camp with. We used to fish, but it is all catch and release. I can definitely recommend it but you have to be looking for a relaxing and beautiful setting and mostly doing not much of anything. ... |
