     This lake is one of the great places here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful. Near Oakland Pond you discover the Deer Lake Trail which is a great hiking trail; the panorama of Mount Elwell is pretty. Oakland Pond gets a common amount of annual rain; the wettest month of the year is generally January, that's the one that rains the most, and July on the other hand is the driest.
Summertime highs at Oakland Pond typically tend to be
 
   in the 90's while night lows are mostly in the 40's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 40's, and night lows in the 20's for Oakland Pond. This place, the Northern Sierra Nevada, has so much outdoors enjoyable things. Don’t forget to stop at Lakes Basin while you're here at Oakland Pond, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to nearby Snake Lake. Deer Creek Inn is a good spot to get some rest.
If you need a location
 
               to stay Chalet View Lodge is a nice choice, and there are some pleasant whitewater spots on Yuba River - North Fork. So much entertaining stuff to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada, not enough time. Camping is available at Berger Campground; going for a hike on the Butcher Ranch Trail is always a fine adventure. What a site this is for outdoors people. This is a splendid neighborhood for people who like lakes. Round Lake is a lake in the neighborhood; the Pacific Crest Trail - section 15 is a good hiking trail nearby.
Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Lavezzola Creek, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Royal Gorge if you're here. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Packsaddle Campground is always a good experience, and golf can be played at Graeagle Meadows Golf Course.
