Matelot Reservoir, and camping is available at Sonora Trailer Lodge. And that's not all you can do here in the Central Sierra Nevada. A wonderful spot to camp here at O'Neil Reservoir is Sonora Twin Pines RV Park. Lakes are nice;
San Diego Reservoir is a lake that's right next door to O'Neil Reservoir. If you come at the right time of year, Stanislaus River offers some brilliant whitewater, and don't leave O'Neil Reservoir without first checking out Pulpit

 | 19 miles away Go to the back side by where the river runs in... MURDER the trout on that end. Yes they do stock but it depends on what side of the lake you go to. If you have a 4x4 and a forest service map you can get to the good spots....Absolutely beautiful view, but there are thousands of mosquitoes, bring bug spray...I was at the lake yesterday and no luck the water level is to high and don't think they stoked this year due to funds.... |
