    If you are in Tuolumne county it's always a good idea to stop by O'Neil Reservoir. High temperatures at O'Neil Reservoir during the summertime are in the 90's with night lows in the 60's. Highs through the wintertime are frequently in the 50's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to O'Neil Reservoir. O'Neil Reservoir is located in the Central Sierra Nevada. And that's not all you can do here at O'Neil Reservoir. Don't forget to take a wonderful little  
   trip to Peppermint Creek; if you need a location to stay Sonora Days Inn is a tremendous choice.
This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Stanislaus River - Middle Fork; Mountain Springs Golf Club is a glorious golf course nearby. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at O'Neil Reservoir you will meet lots of folks from close by Phoenix Lake-Cedar Ridge. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always check out close by
 
               Matelot Reservoir, and camping is available at Sonora Trailer Lodge.
And that's not all you can do here in the Central Sierra Nevada. A wonderful spot to camp here at O'Neil Reservoir is Sonora Twin Pines RV Park. Lakes are nice; San Diego Reservoir is a lake that's right next door to O'Neil Reservoir. If you come at the right time of year, Stanislaus River offers some brilliant whitewater, and don't leave O'Neil Reservoir without first checking out Pulpit Rock. So many amusing things in the Central Sierra Nevada, just striking. A great location like Rawhide Flat here at O'Neil Reservoir is too great to miss; dry warm beds await you at Country Inn Sonora.
O'Neil Reservoir is ordinarily a reasonably dried up place; January is when you get the most rain here; the driest of the months is July.

Go to the back side by where the river runs in... MURDER the trout on that end. Yes they do stock but it depends on what side of the lake you go to. If you have a 4x4 and a forest service map you can get to the good spots....Absolutely beautiful view, but there are thousands of mosquitoes, bring bug spray...I was at the lake yesterday and no luck the water level is to high and don't think they stoked this year due to funds....
