Upon arrival, you find yourself along a lake which is beautifully cradled against the Crystal mountain range. On a clear day, you can see well into the Sacramento Valley and beyond. Clear days in the valley are few and far between in the summer though. Absolutely beautiful destination for a hike. Going for a hike on the Highland Trail is always a magnificent adventure, and if you need a site to stay Pine Cone Acre Motel is a good choice. You think that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Near Lake Number Three you come across the Red Peak Trail which is a good hiking trail, and a day on the slopes of Sierra at Tahoe is just what you need. These mountains rock,       just check out all the exciting things to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. The snow is perfect at Homewood, and the Crystal Range casts its shadow over Lake Number Three. Go for a hike on the Windmiller Trail, and American River - South Fork has a great whitewater paddling spot close by. Crystal Range is beautiful and can be seen from Lake Number Three; Lawrence Lake is a wonderful lake close by. A great close by hotel is Village at Squaw Valley. You                  absolutely must love the Northern Sierra Nevada. Camping at Thirty-nine Mile Campground is always a tremendous experience. Lakes? Sure, Lake Number Five is in close proximity. A common amount of rainfall falls here at Lake Number Three; the wettest month of the year is mostly January, that's the one that snows the most, and the driest month of the year is July. This lake is so wonderful. In case you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Silver Creek - South Fork, and if you came to camp Pleasant Boat-In Campground is a pleasant site to do that. Lake Number Three is a beautiful lake in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Summer at Lake Number Three comes with high temperatures in the 70's. Summer night lows descend down to the 40's.
