Good hiking is available along the Kings River Trail; San Joaquin River - South Fork has a perfect whitewater paddling spot nearby. This lake is so wonderful. If you crave a little side visit, try Jawbone Canyon, and dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Motel - Bishop. North Lake is located in the Central Sierra Nevada. Yeah, come up here to the Central Sierra Nevada       for a pleasant time. There's so much to do here at North Lake that you need to camp here for a while, North Lake Campground is a fine place for that, and after a long day outdoors Bishop-Days Inn is a perfect place to spend a night or two. A pretty lake like Grass Lake in the neighborhood of North Lake is a great location to stop at, and unsurprisingly Lamarck Creek flows through this vicinity. All the outdoors enjoyable stuff in the Central Sierra Nevada will                  keep you coming back many times. Lake Sabrina is a magnificent lake near North Lake, and if you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Kings River - Middle Fork. Through the months of summer highs here at North Lake get into the 90's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 50's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to North Lake. Be careful coming to North Lake, you might not ever want to return home again. You'll need more than a day to explore everything North Lake has to offer, you can camp at Sabrina Campground, and since you're here at North Lake it's a pleasant idea to stop at Bishop Park. Devils Postpile National Monument is a very perfect site to visit close to North Lake; there's good hiking along the John Muir Trail - Pacific Crest Section.
