Why not camp at Bunchgrass Campground if you're here at North Battle Creek Reservoir, and if you have time, Lassen Volcanic National Park is a national park worth stopping at. Be careful coming to       the Southern Cascade Range, you might not ever wanna go home again. There's great hiking along the Heart Lake Twin Meadows Trail, and you'll discover a beautiful lake called Huckleberry Lake. This lake is so wonderful. In case you don’t mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Battle Creek - South Fork; don't leave North Battle Creek Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Bunchgrass Trail. At North Battle Creek Reservoir                  through the long summer days highs are in the 80's, and the overnight is a little colder of course, frequently in the 40's.
